What? Australia’s premier online destination for buying and selling authentic pre-owned luxury handbags, jewellery and shoes

Luxe.It.Fwd is Australia’s premier online destination for buying and selling authentic pre-owned luxury handbags, jewellery and shoes. We sell only the most exclusive and premium condition items from designers such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes and Gucci, to name a few. We offer a luxury buying experience from start to finish coupled with a complete guarantee of authenticity, so our buyers can shop second hand luxury with complete peace of mind. We also buy and consign designer bags from our customers around Australia!

How did the idea for your business first come about?
I was actually looking to buy a second hand Chanel bag online a couple of years back but found there were really limited options in Australia of online stores offering the complete package of great bags, great prices, great service and (importantly!) a guarantee of authenticity. So I set about creating a luxury store that buyers like me would want to shop at!

When did you have a ‘f*ck-it moment’ and decide you were going to go all-in and start your business?
The more I looked into it the more I really saw a gap in the service offering of authentic luxury pre-owned bags in Australia. I’ve also always been obsessed with online shopping and fashion so there was a part of me that was really itching to get involved with this space - so I knew it was something that I had to do.

What were some major challenges you had when starting your business? And how did you overcome them?
Bootstrapping meant that I had to do EVERYTHING myself initially. So that meant I was very stretched for time and also had to develop skills quickly that were outside of my comfort zone, including learning how to do professional photography for our site photos when at the time I didn't even know what a DSLR camera was.

What has been your biggest “pinch me” moment?
Simply that I have a successful fashion e-commerce company is a pinch me moment as I've always been obsessed with all things in the lifestyle/fashion space.

Starting a business can be gruelling - what keeps you motivated, and keeps you going?
As cliche as it may sound - the 'remember why I started' and also not wanting to have any regrets or 'what if' moments in the future is always what keeps me going during gruelling times.

How do you create a work-life balance?
With a newborn baby and a startup business, I'm honestly not sure I do create a work-life balance but it's something I'm really working on. I am however very fortunate that owning an e-commerce business means that I can work a lot from home so that's been a godsend having a newborn baby.
