We are so glad to have him speak for us at the League, and yes, he is our first male speaker here at the Gold Coast.
He is going to talk with us about trends globally, what’s coming out, what investors are wanting to see more of, what’s working, what are some of the common mistakes, and how does that apply right here in the Gold Coast. Ian is already a huge fan of our beachy shores and sees a great energy around our lifestyle and entrepreneurial culture that is building.
Extraordinary ladies, this is open to our extraordinary men too, as always – so bring your man, or bring a buddy. Members free, guests $25 each.
It was a childhood dream that led Ian Mason to work with one of the world’s most well-known entrepreneurs, Richard Branson. Ian was instrumental in the creation and development of Virgin Start Up with the magnate.
GUEST SPEAKER //
Ian Mason - Co-Creator of Virgin Startup London
Ian is an entrepreneur in his own right and is the founder of an education company, providing physical and digital learning resources to schools across the UK and globally. He is passionate about education that is relevant, and encourages our children to be inclusive, kind and creative change makers of the future.
Ian was also Leader of the UK’s delegation to the Y20 Summit, representing the views of young people in the UK to the G20 World Leaders at their annual summit. This led him to co-found the Future Leaders Network, an organisation that seeks out and develops the business, academic and political leaders of the future.
Ian campaigns on a number of issues, including the universal right to education, social entrepreneurship and improving levels of financial literacy.
In his leisure time, Ian enjoys playing football (well of course, he is English ), motorsport, shooting, running and listening to jazz/swing music. He is a member of MENSA and avid supporter of Aston Villa Football Club. Let’s see if we teach him to surf whilst he is out here!
If you’re a female entrepreneur or thinking of owning your own business, this Meet Up is the perfect setting to meet other women in the same boat. This is not a networking group – we’re here to have real conversations and make real connections.
What do we mean by real? Well you know when you walk into a room and feel welcome even when you don’t know anyone? Or when you share experiences with someone and they say “me too!”? How about when you share tough times with someone and they don’t try to give you the advice to fix it but rather - they just get you. This is what happens at League of Extraordinary Women Meet Ups.
