As she crossed the road on her bike, she turned to me and smiled

Magic moment
/ˈmadʒɪk/ ˈməʊm(ə)nt/

Definition:
A point in time where something special and positive occurs that makes you feel like a million bucks.

I was stuck in heavy traffic on the way to work this morning. After someone had cut me off, let’s just say the morning wasn’t off to a great start.

After snailing traffic, I came to standstill at another set of lights. I sighed and took in a deep breath. *let’s just get through today*

Out the corner of my eye, I see this gorgeous young girl about 7-8 years old on her bright pink bike. She was following her Dad and as she crossed the road, she looked over at me through the windshield. As she locked eye contact with me, a big bright smile appeared on her face.

Her smile was so sincere and warm, it made me instantly smile back at her.

In that magic moment, I felt a surge of happiness and joy.

It really took me back to the times when I was a young kid... remember those days you’d be on a bus or van and wave to strangers in the next car? How fun was it when strangers would wave back and smile?

I wonder when these moments stopped for me. When stress and life started to take over that I forgot these small but impactful magic moments. That young girl taught me something invaluable today, that we still have a choice to create these magic moments. I could have easily just missed seeing her smile but I didn't and I smiled back. It was really magical.

Have you experienced a magic moment recently? Please do share!

Stay peachy!
